A WORKPLACE wellness program

on Meditation, Reflection & Artistic Production

Enhance creativity, focus, teamwork & clarity

 

Facilitated in a small group environment, participants are guided into a seated or reclined meditation using creative visualization prompts to allow a sense of relaxation, calm, and mental expansion. A common theme, relative to the season is generally used as a prompt to focus on. Participants are then encouraged and inspired to create their own Mandala designs using a variety of art supplies (i.e. pencil crayons, markers, pastels). The process of putting colour to paper by hand allows a deeper exploration of the Inner Child becoming revealed in every individual. The completed designs can range from abstract shapes, geometry, symbols, and/or realistic items to convey the participant’s interpretation of the theme.

How Does it Work?

Outline:

  • Choose between a 4-week or 8-week program where I will work directly with your team and its participating members

  • On a weekly basis, i will lead you through a guided meditation and gentle movement to loosen up tension, reduce physical pain, and relieve fatigue and stagnancy. There will be a sharing circle wirth prompts that can either be shared or written down to establish cohesion, trust, and the ability to hold emotional space for one another.

  • Throughout the weeks, we will be working on a culminating art project, a Mandala Design based on a particular theme or mood.

  • At the end of the program, participants are free to share their Designs in a Share & Tell session, along with any other general reflections based on the prompts from the previous weeks.

What is a Mandala?

A Mandala is a circular design that is placed on an altar or a place of worship. It is used as a focus aid for meditation as it allows the mind to relax and find It does not have to be restricted to a symmetrical design or a certain set of colours.

fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & Concerns answered

  1. What if I don’t have any experience with meditation?

    You don’t need any prior experience to start! Be aware of whatever you have heard or read about meditation, however, your experience is very unique to your own individual experience. As long as you have an open mind and propensity to become still, we can work together to get you started!

  2. What about my Injuries?

    This practice is accessible for all different types of bodies. It is a safe space so if there is anything you don’t feel comfortable doing (i.e. sitting upright for long periods of time), I will always provide modifications or alternatives for you to choose from (i.e. laying down on your back or sitting propped upwards against a wall instead of seated on the ground or in a chair).

  3. I’m afraid of starting because “I’m not artistic…”

    The beauty is you don’t have to have any prior experience with art! As long as you have a curiosity to explore, a willingness to try something new, and an openness to detach from having a set, academic outcome of your artwork, you will benefit more from this practice.

  4. What if I feel uncomfortable sharing my reflections with others?

    Because this is a safe space, you are permitted not to share if you don’t feel safe doing so. However, please be mindful to share the space and hold it for others who do choose to share as they may be in the same situation as you are. As long as you stay open-minded and willing to listen, you will be well respected in this environment setting.
