Dimanches Musicaux Website Redesign

This three month project included a complete brand re-design of Les Dimanches Musicaux de Forum, a forum association for classical music in Castres, France. The client requested for a redesign of the website, Les Dimanches Musicaux and printed media (posters, bookmarks and postcards) reflecting the new redesign. This process included drafting a new color palette, typography, visual imagery and style that is reflective of a more contemporary audience and aesthetic to draw in a more international and diverse audience to learn more about the theatre’s seasonal concerts and to register for event tickets.

The color palette was adapted based on the previous colors chosen for the Dimanches Musicaux brand, which had a dark and heavier aesthetic with many contrasting colors with the magenta pink. The primary color (bordeaux red) was selected to add more warmth and a regal feeling while the darker navy background color was replaced with the light-cream color instead.

I selected the accent color (periwinkle blue) to compliment both the tertiary color (gold) and primary color (bordeaux red) to reflect the RYB (Red-Yellow-Blue) primary colors used in painting and art.

I consulted with the client to create a more minimalist representation of visual imagery — using the instruments featured in the concerts: violins, pianos, clarinet, drums and percussion. I opted for the style of the contour line drawing, reflective of Pablo Picasso and the simplicity of modern art in the 21st Century.
